Top 5 'Bang for the Buck' Video Games with +100 Hours of Playtime

Plenty of content and +100 hours of fun are guaranteed.

In today's day and age, and with the uncertainty of the current economy, we often look for the best deals or scavenge for coupons make our money worth as much as it possibly can.

Buying games at a discount is one way you can save money. Here is a list of 5 games you can find at great prices that feature more than 100 hours' worth of playtime and content. You won't regret investing in one of these experiences.

5. Stardew Valley

The game has been out there for more than 7 years. It was developed by a single person, but don't let that fool you. Stardew Valley has been receiving a lot of content regularly. Today, the game is completely different than it was on its release.

In this pixel-art farming simulator, you take control of an inherited farm in a dire state. It is your job to turn things around, and make it into a profitable business. You will meet a lot of colorful characters in town, and help them with their everyday lives.

The game presents you with a moral dilemma; you can work hard to make the town better by bringing business back with your thriving farm, or you can complete your challenges by paying a big corporation known as Joja Mart.

Stardew Valley features a lot of challenges, collectibles, and tasks. You can meet the love of your life in town, and have a happy family. There are plenty of activities waiting for you!

4. Mass Effect: Legendary Edition

We all love a Buy One Get One Free deal. Mass Effect: Legendary Edition goes beyond that! You will get 3 games for the price of one; each one better than the other. You can get your hands on Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 by the price of 1, and updated for current generation consoles, and PC.

All the content made for the game, including DLCs, are accessible instantly. Mass Effect 2 and 3 DLCs add a lot of content and new characters. They substantially improve the game, and add plenty of hours of fun.

You will play as Commander Shepard and deal with his story arc in the Mass Effect universe. This is for sure the best game that came out of Bioware. I can even dare to say it is better than the Dragon Age universe.

Shepard must embark on a journey to save the galaxy from a lurking threat called the Reapers. You will explore new worlds, meet new characters, complete quests, and even have time for romance!

There is plenty of content in each game, like armor, weapons, upgrades, and more. Each game takes around +60 hours or so to complete. You can easily spend more than 150 hours combined in this 'bang-for-the-buck' epic space odyssey.

3. The Witcher 3: Complete Edition

The Witcher 3 is considered one of the best RPGs of all time. The game developed by CDProjeckt Red recently got a next-gen update. You can play this game at 4K, 60fps on the PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

As the name suggests, The Witcher 3: Complete Edition features all the content available for the game. You even get a handful of bonuses added on the next-gen update. What makes this game stand out is the plenty of activities and quests available for you to do.

The game received 2 expansions: Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine. They are one of the best DLCs ever made. They add a lot of play time for the game, with new quests, a very solid story that enriches the lore, and new armor, weapons and content.

In The Witcher 3: Complete Edition, you will take control of Geralt of Rivia, a witcher that has to find his loved ones who might be in danger. You will unravel an underlying plot, realizing that it is something larger-than-life.

Explore the continent, meet people, and make uneasy alliances in order to 'save the world', or everything and everyone dear.

2. Red Dead Redemption 2

The game is actually a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption. It is one of the best experiences in recent years; the only thing is that the game has not received a next-gen update, so you will have to settle for a 30fps frame rate on consoles.

Despite this minor inconvenience, Red Dead Redemption is one of the best visually-stunning games out there. It features different biomes across its huge map. Deserts, prairies, swaps, the outback, and a vibrant city are waiting for you.

There are plenty of things to do while advancing in the game's well-crafted story. You can hunt, fish, explore, collect, and have fun in town. You will meet new characters and help them with their problems, who knows, you might even profit for them.

In the game, you take control of Arthur Morgan, a member of a band of thieves that have constantly to run and hide because times are changing in America. Outlaws are frowned upon, and thievery is highly condemned in a country that is thriving and modernizing.

You will take part in one of the best stories ever written for video games; it is worth a movie or a series! Friendship, trust, betrayal and plot twists wait for you if you dive into this +100-hour experience.

1. Elden Ring

There is no doubt why this game got Game of The Year. This might be From Software's most ambitious game to date. They decided to make an open-world game, instead of their usual closed, more contained maps.

Elden Ring features all the great things that make From Software's games incredible. Its combat mechanics are more polished than ever, and you get your usual classes. Melee, assassin, mage, or a hybrid are available for you to choose.

The map in Elden Ring is huge, and it has plenty of nooks and crannies hidden. You can find epic loot, someone in need of help, or even a secret passage to a new land. The world in this game is the hidden character. It has a lot of things, and you should take the time to explore it.

I recommend having a guide open, like Fextralife or your favorite YouTuber so you don't feel overwhelmed by the game. If you take the wrong way, you might stumble upon enemies much stronger than you, making the experience unnecessarily frustrating.

This is the best game on the list and we are still waiting for the Shadows of the Erdtree DLC that is in the works.

What do you think of the games in the list? Are you looking forward to playing one of them?

Happy gaming.
