Set Aside 155GB for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor; PC Specs Revealed.

Electronic Arts have revealed the minimum and recommended PC specs for their upcoming Star Wars game. The most surprising thing is the game's big file size.

3 weeks before its April 28th release, EA published on its website the minimum and recommended PC specs for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The surprising thing is that it's going to take up to 155GB of precious storage. This is the first 'next-gen' title leaning towards the 200GB mark, infamously set by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Warzone.

Here are the minumum and recommended specs released by EA.

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™ PC Minimum System Requirements
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit

  • RAM: 8Gb

  • CPU Features: 4 core / 8 threads

  • CPU* AMD: Ryzen 5 1400

  • GPU** AMD: Radeon RX 580

  • GPU Features: DX12, 8Gb VRAM

  • Storage: 155Gb

  • *CPU alternate: Intel Core i7-7700

  • **GPU alternate: Nvidia GTX 1070

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™ PC Recommended System Requirements
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit

  • RAM: 16Gb

  • CPU Features: 4 core / 8 threads

  • CPU* AMD: Ryzen 5 5600X

  • GPU** AMD: RX 6700 XT

  • GPU Features: DX12, 8Gb VRAM

  • Storage: 155Gb SSD

  • *CPU alternate: Intel Core i5 11600K

  • **GPU alternate: Nvidia RTX2070

Take the minimum CPU and GPU with a grain of salt. If you want the game to run at an unstable frame rate, and look like clay, then you are good to go with the requirements posted.

We believe you need at least an AMD RX 5700 or the Nvidia equivalent, which is the Nvidia RTX 2070; they're necessary in order to play at 1080p with medium settings and a stable frame rate.

8GB of RAM should suffice if you plan to play without anything else running in the background. 16 GB is the standard for gaming PCs now, so you should not have a problem with it.

In terms of storage, EA recommends an SSD drive. The previous title had a few loading screens, so we assume that running a mechanical hard drive will increase the time between gameplay by a few seconds.

Where is the standard nowadays?

A solid gaming PC should be somewhere between the recommended specs shown by EA. Windows 10 is basically on every PC at the moment, and users prefer the 64-bit version.

16GB of RAM is the standard, and everyone has been migrating to solid state drives, instead of old-school mechanical hard drives. Even laptops are implementing an SSD solution from the get-go.

4 core / 8 threads are the standard in terms of CPU. Both solutions offered by AMD and Intel should be more than enough. However, if you have a high-end GPU, consider getting a Gen 11 to 12 i5 processor with decent cache.

The standard for graphic cards is the Nvidia RTX 2080, but you will be limited if you want to use ray tracing. The 3000 series improved its architecture in order to implement ray tracing without sacrificing too much memory.

Here are our recommended PC settings if you want to reap the benefit of things like ray tracing, high refresh rates, and higher graphical settings.

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit

  • RAM: 32Gb

  • CPU Features: 4 core / 8 threads

  • CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core (TM) i5-12600K 3.70 GHz / or Ryzen 7 7700X

  • GPU: Nvidia RTX3070 / or RX 7700 XT

  • GPU Features: DX12, 8Gb VRAM

  • Storage: 155Gb SSD

What are your thoughts on the recommended and minimum specs? Are you going to play this at 1080p or 4k resolution? Let me know in the comments below.
