PS Plus Subscribers Beware! 32 Games Will Be Removed in May.

The PS Plus subscription service will lose 32 games all at once in May. Marvel's Spider-Man, and the Metro franchise will abandon the service.

PlayStation Plus subscribers who signed up for Extra and Premium tiers will be affected by the removal of 32 games, all at once. These two tiers have hundreds of games available for its subscribers: A curated list of PS4 and PS5 games, PlayStation Classic titles, and Ubisoft+ are part of the incentive for those tiers.

Unfortunately, these games have a different licensing agreement than the 3 monthly games available for all tiers, including Essentials. Once you claim any of the 3 free games, you get to keep them indefinitely, as long as your subscription is active.

The Extra and Premium tiers have more 'volatile' agreements, meaning that these games can come and go, depending on the licensing agreement with the publishers. We have seen other games abandon the service, like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the Mafia games, RIDE 4, and Red Dead Redemption for example. Even if you had the game installed, you lost access, once the game was removed.

This will be the case for the following 32 games.

  • Balan Wonderworld

  • Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy!

  • Chronos: Before the Ashes

  • Deadlight: Director's Cut

  • Dreamfall Chapters

  • FlatOut 4 - Total Insanity

  • Graveyard Keeper

  • Homefront: The Revolution

  • How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition

  • Last Day of June

  • Left Alive

  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance

  • KONA*

  • Marvel's Spider-Man

  • Marvel's Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition

  • Metro 2033 Redux

  • Metro: Last Light Redux

  • Mighty No. 9

  • MX vs. ATV All Out

  • Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Definitive Edition

  • Pixel Piracy

  • Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered

  • Relicta

  • Resident Evil

  • Shenmue 3

  • Star Ocean: First Departure R

  • This War of Mine: The Little Ones

  • Tour de France 2021

  • TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2

  • Virginia

  • Windbound

*Do not confuse with KENA: Bridge of Spirits

The games that stand out from this list are Marvel's Spider-Man, the Metro franchise, TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2, Resident Evil, Shenmue 3, and MX vs. ATV All Out.

Unfortunately, some of these games have amazing story modes or are incredibly fun to play. Looks like some subscribers, including myself, will have to rush and finish some of the titles before they are removed from the list.

TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2 is the game that I am currently playing. It seems that the main reason for removing the game is that the sequel will be released on May 11. Strategic-wise, it would be foolish to have a huge chunk of potential buyers playing your prequel for free on the platform.

Let's see if Sony tries to make up for its Extra and Premium subscribers because they will be losing 32 games at once. People are already complaining about this terrible news, and Sony is once again on the spot.

Were you playing any of the titles on the list? Which one would you save? Let me know in the comments below.

Happy gaming.
