Nintendo Announces Zelda Themed Switch OLED.

With the much-awaited Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom release right on the corner, Nintendo just announced a special edition Switch OLED to be released on April 28th, 2023. The game on the other hand, will be released a couple of weeks after, on May 12th, 2023. The console's price tag is $359.99, $10 more than the usual Nintendo Switch OLED price.

Unfortunately, the system will not include the game, so fans and newcomers will have to pay an extra $70 for a copy of it. You read that right, Nintendo will charge $70 for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Japanese company is going along the industry standard for Triple A games.

Nintendo claims that this is the biggest video game they have ever developed. In today's market, considering inflation, and the scope of the game, it seems understandable to charge for the game the new adjusted $70 price tag. What people might criticize is that the game is not a 4k experience like Horizon: Forbidden West, or any new open-world RPG available on true next-gen hardware, PC included.

Despite the price, it seems that people will still buy the game, and that sales will surpass everyone's expectations. Zelda is one of the most successful franchises in video game history. Nintendo has a special place in gamer's hearts, and will do the impossible to get a copy of the game.

You will have to wait until the game is released to put your new and scintillating, Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch in its matching carrying case. Nintendo will release the case, and a Zelda-themed Pro Controller on May 12th. Nintendo sells its officially licensed carrying cases for $19.99, however this one will set you back $24.99.

For the Pro-Controller it's more of the same, the price for one of these will set you back $74.99. Nintendo is taking advantage of the hype and great anticipation for the game to charge you an extra 5$ per item; the console, as mentioned above, is $10 pricier than a regular Switch OLED model. That is a total of $20 extra for the whole set.

If you are a snobby collector, and want to get everything on the list, you will have to spend $530 before taxes and shipping costs. Maybe it's the perfect gift for that special someone...YOU!

In all seriousness, we are hoping that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom delivers as a game because its prequel really puts the bar up high. We are greatly anticipating this game, and can't wait to dive into Hyrule, and explore it once again.

Happy gaming.
