Ferrari Launches the SF-24
The Scuderia from Maranello is ready for Bahrain testing.
Ferrari unveiled its 2024 F1 challenger through an online-only event. The team from Maranello unveiled the car and took it for a spin on the Fiorano Circuit. They did something similar last year with the SF-23, being one of the few teams that did not use pre-rendered images to unveil their new livery design.
Christened the SF-24, this year's car features a few changes that can hopefully put Ferrari in a competitive position starting the season. One of it's most noticeable changes is on the front wing, which resembles Aston Martin's design approach.
They will still use a mix of a push-rod suspension at the front, and pull-rod at the back. They were one of the few teams that suffered the least with the infamous 'porpoising'. Looks like they improved on the suspension, and that they prioritized ease of driving.
What is evidently noticeable is that Ferrari is pursuing a more 'Red Bull-like' design approach. Every team seems to be shifting towards what the world champions are doing in terms of design philosophy.
Everyone seems to be optimistic at this point on the preseason, let's see how this new season unveils, not only for Ferrari, who is expecting Hamilton to join in 2025, but for the rest of the grid and of course, Red Bull Racing, the defending champions.
