F1 23 Out on June 16.
The yearly licensed F1 game makes its much-awaited return. A new chapter in Braking Point unveils.
Codemasters and EA recently teased us with a video about an F1 team unveiling. It was pretty clear that they were hinting for the return of Braking Point: the heavily scripted story mode that features an underdog driver, trying to prove himself on the grid. This time you will have a seat in a brand-new Formula 1 team: Konnersport Racing.
On the trailer reveal we can see that Braking Point has a more cinematic/documentary feel to it. The visuals and scenes look more realistic than ever. Let's see if the improved visuals carry over to other game modes like Multiplayer or Career Mode.
Keep in mind that trailers feature selected gameplay parts that are usually polished for showcasing.
One of the things we picked up from the trailer is that there are red flags implemented in the game. It is not clear if it is something scripted inside Braking Point, or if they will be available in other game modes.
Game Price
On PC (via Steam or EA Play) the Standard Edition will cost $69.99 and includes 5000 Pit Coins to buy cosmetics.
The Champions Edition costs $89.99 and it includes 18,000 Pit Coins, cosmetics, and 3-day early access. This is the only edition available for pre-order con consoles at the moment.
Game Changes
The story mode, Breaking Point, is the main feature of F1 23.
Red flags appear for the first time.
Codemasters has worked on revamping the handling model of the game, which makes the cars more predictable to drive.
Car physics has also been reworked, making the cars more stable during braking and corner exit.
Engine torque and inertia have been reworked, making throttle control feel more realistic and authentic.
The game will feature an online hub called F1 World.
A rating system that will reward you for clean races, or punish you for filthy driving.
Better controller support through Precision Drive.
35% race distance added.
Looks like Codemasters has worked on much requested features like handling and physics. Perhaps F1 23 will set a solid base for the truly next-gen iterations of the game.
Will you be getting the game on day 1? Do you like the changes? Let me know in the comments below.
Happy Racing.
