5 Space Games Instantly Playable on Xbox Game Pass

Buckle up and get ready to explore the final frontier; exotic new worlds await.

Get in your space ship and embark on a journey where no man has gone before. Here are 5 space games you can instantly play on Xbox Game Pass (PC included).

5. Outer Wilds

The indie game developed by Mobius Digital puts in the hands of an alien kid on space camp. You are living in a relatively small solar system stuck in a 22-minute time loop before its star goes supernova, resetting everything.

The game features 'free' exploration, so you will be able to go to the handful of planets available for exploring. You will fully control the landing sequence by controlling the spaceship's descent, angle, and speed. This game mechanic instantly makes you feel like an Astronaut of the Apollo program.

Solving puzzles is another element inside the game; get ready to use your creativity, and think outside the box in order to sort them.

4. Astroneer

Some call this game a smaller No Man's Sky. Both games certainly share a lot of elements like crafting, the terrain tool, and planet exploration. The game does not have a clear story mode but completing tasks will shed more light on its lore.

In order to finish the game, you must find an alien gateway that needs geometric triptychs in order to open. Each planet features unique hazards, and the deeper you explore, the more challenging the game becomes.

If you are seeking a short, but sweet experience, then give ASTRONEER a chance. You will not be overwhelmed like in bigger, more ambitious experiences like The Outer Worlds, or No Man's Sky.

3. Everspace 2

Developed by Rockfish Games, EVERSPACE 2 features fast-paced spaceship combat and deep planet exploration. The game has complex RPG elements like crafting, mining, inventory management, and upgrades.

The game is an open world, and apart from space combat, you will explore planets, solve puzzles, and experience a very well-crafted story.

Its main selling point is the fast-paced, space combat. It is like a mix of Star Fox and Star Wars with satisfying explosions. It has an amazing sound design so you will need a good pair of headsets to immerse yourself in the game.

2. No Man's Sky

A very innovative game developed by Hello Games, No Man's Sky is a procedurally generated third person space exploration RPG. Like most games on the list, it shares elements like inventory management, crafting, upgrading and of course, space exploration.

One of the most unique features about No Man's Sky is that you have the freedom to not only explore the planet you are on, but to get in your spaceship, and explore other planets. Each world is a sandbox; you can go anywhere you want, and the magic of it is that everything is procedurally generated. That means that each playthrough is unique.

1. Outer Worlds

Perhaps the most 'complete' experience on the list, The Outer Worlds is a game created by Obsidian Entertainment who has worked on games like Fallout: New Vegas. You can definitely pick up similarities between both games.

Outer Worlds is a true action RPG with elements like inventory management crafting, dialogue choices, and side quests. You will find loot by exploring or killing enemies; weapons and armor have different levels and rating, each possessing unique characteristics.

You will travel across different planets, each with its share of danger and beauty. The game is a very solid experience with a compelling story, stunning visuals, and deep mechanics. One of its unique features is that you can switch between 1st and 3rd person perspective.
