10 Job Simulator Games to Help You Relax After Work.
After a long day at work, we come home wanting to relax a bit, and disconnect from the world. Some games just won't cut it because they can be too hectic or fast-paced. Sometimes a game with slow and repetitive mechanics will soothe us far more than any other triple A experience out there.
Ironically, we find job simulator games to be the ideal answer to our work-related stress prerogative. Either flying a Piper Cub through the fields of Indiana, fixing a car through the summer, or flipping a derelict house to sell it for a profit; it does not matter what games we play, sometimes doing menial work on video games can help us relax from real-life work.
Here is a list of 10 job simulator games that will help you relax after work!
10. Lawn Mowing Simulator
In the game you literally mow lawns; there is nothing else to it, sort of. In all seriousness, in the game you first take contracts to mow different lawns; be it a small house, a mansion in the suburbs or a small farm.
You can progress by acquiring better equipment and upgrading your headquarters. At first it might seem like you have a small operation, but you can grow it as big as you want. You will soon have a mowing emporium with different employees at your disposition.
The game features all the top brands that make lawn mowers. I am personally not familiar with them, but you can go through the YouTube rabbit hole to check them out.
9. Power Wash Simulator
In this game you take advantage of a neighborhood that has been affected by the soot dispersed by a volcanic eruption. You will start cleaning everything the neighbors tell you to.
Power Wash Simulator has a similar concept to the previous game. You start a one-man operation by power washing sidewalk, cars, boats, houses, etc. Progress is key to upgrading your equipment.
The game has received a lot of whacky content, like its latest expansion in which you have a power washing job at Croft Manor.
8. PC Building Simulator 2
The game is a true successor to the first one. It evolves on the concept of building and maintaining PCs. PC Building Simulator 2 features a great career mode in which you will manage a PC building business.
One of the things that caught my attention is how deep and 'realistic' this game is. It is not just like Lego placing components where they should go. It actually features things like water-cooling, thermal paste application, RGB, and even monitoring tools because you can overclock your GPU and CPU.
It is a great learning tool for young people, and also folks that want to learn the ropes of PC gaming. Everything that is part of the PC gaming culture is present in the game, including generous customization options; you can even share your creations with the community.
7. My Summer Car
The game takes place in Finland, a country that has a very strong Rally culture. People living in rural areas tend to modify their cars and run them through makeshift rally stages. The goal of this game is to modify your car through the summer. You can literally do anything you want to it.
You will start by fixing the engine, suspension, tires, and other important components; you can also add racing seats, racing paint and more. The game has a bit of a story to it, so you will relate with characters scattered through the region.
Visually, the game is not up to par with titles like Flight Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator, or Farming Simulator. Do not let that deter your intention to play the game. It is extremely relaxing, and the slow yet steady progression will provide you with hours of fun.
6. Gas Station Simulator
A game within the same vein of Car Mechanic Simulator. You will buy an abandoned gas station and try to make it a profitable operation. Renovating and upgrading the place will help you expand the services you offer.
Gas Station Simulator has a unique charm, and decent visuals. You will spend a lot of hours renovating the place. As mentioned above, the feeling of progressing at a steady pace will keep you hooked up for a long time.
5. Car Mechanic Simulator 2021
The game takes inspiration from My Summer Car, in it, you will take care of a garage, tasked with repairing all types of car-related problems. You are going to fix engines, change tires, fix suspensions, and more.
The game goes quite hardcore when it comes to fixing. In general, you can learn a lot about how cars work because of the game's level of depth. It features more than 4000 unique parts and over 72 cars.
The goal of the game is to periodically expand your shop and increase income by providing more and more services. That feeling of progression will keep you hooked while you make a name for yourself. You can even buy your own car and take it for a ride.
4. House Flipper 2
In House Flipper you will take the place of a renovator that seeks cheap houses that are abandoned. You will buy them to begin its renovation process; after you are finished, you can sell them for a profit.
Hold your horses, you don't start by being a flipper from the get-go. You need to amass capital by doing small renovation jobs here and there; once you make a name for yourself as a successful contractor, you can buy derelict houses and do its pertaining renovation.
The game is extremely satisfactory. You can tear down walls, nail planks, add wall paper, paint, and many other things. The game provides the player with a lot of options in order to encourage its creativity.
3. Farming Simulator 22
Either you pick Farming Simulator 17, 20, or 22, you will have hours of fun in one of the best farming games out there. Farming Simulator 22 is available on Xbox Game Pass; so why not check it out?
In the game you will take control of a farm. You will start doing jobs for other farmers, sort of like Kaleb Cooper, the farming-fetus, in Clarkson's: The Farm (I recommend checking it out on Amazon Prime Video). Once you climb up the social ladder and amass enough capital, you can start your solo venture. The game can feel a little bit overwhelming at first, but I recommend that you start slow. Don't be afraid to turn on tutorials or play on 'easy mode'
Once you are familiar with the game's mechanics, you can dive into your solo-farming endeavor. The game has a decent modding community so you will find amazing content, both free and priced.
There is a huge list of tractors, combines, tools, trucks, cars, and other farming-related stuff available for you. There are recognizable brands like John Deere, New Holland, CASE and many more, I believe I saw a YouTuber that has the exact same overpowered Lamborghini tractor that Jeremy Clarkson has.
Farming Simulator 22 does not limit itself to just harvesting crops, there are livestock available as well, so you must not spend all of the day in the combine; you need to take care of your cows too.
Hours of fun are guaranteed, and farming can be one of the most soothing experiences out there.
2. Euro and American Truck Simulator
I know they are two different games, however, I put both of them on the list because they are basically the same game, they're even developed by the same company, CSC Software. The only difference is the region where you drive, and the type of trucks available.
In the game you take the job of a truck driver, hauling a plethora of loads to different places. In Euro Truck Simulator (ETS) you focus, as you probably guessed it, on Europe and its countries. European trucks are different than its American equivalent. Scania, Mercedes, Volvo, and more, are common brands you will encounter in ETS. These have a slicker, more compact design in comparison to the International, Mack, Peterbilt and other brands common in America.
Both games have amazing visuals, and the modding community has done an outstanding job in creating Trucks, sounds, assets and other things like weather, maps, and more. You will have hours of fun guaranteed.
Playing with either a controller or steering wheel, even mouse & keyboard will provide you with a great experience. The goal is to relax, admire the view, and cruise towards your destination.
1. Flight Simulator
It is one of the most amazing games ever created. Flight Simulator features a 1:1 scale Earth. It uses Bing maps to create the buildings, roads, trees, mountains, rivers and other elements in the area. This feature definitely makes the game stand out from its competition.
If you do not have a beefed-up computer with the latest video card or a powerful CPU, fret not; the game is available on Xbox Series X|S and it plays relatively well. The console version sacrifices very little graphical elements and higher frame rate; however, the experience is as complete as the one available on PC.
There are many challenges available and the game also added bush trips, which is essential for recreational aviators. You can explore Patagonia, central Europe, the Pacific Ocean, and many other incredible locations.
Flight Simulator has amazing visuals so you will spend hours gandering through the window, or if you like to play on 3rd person perspective, you will find yourself using the right-stick to move the camera a lot.
The game features a wide variety of airplanes like the Piper Cub, Cessna; jumbo jets like the Airbus, and even fighter jets like the F-16. Helicopters were recently added in a free content update, so there is no excuse to check this game out.
